At the Summer Smash, the safety of our attendees, artists and staff is our #1 priority. In accordance with the City of Chicago and in close cooperation with local partners, we will be requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccinations or negative COVID-19 test results to gain entry to the event.

For patrons who are unable to provide valid proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 72 hours of attending the event. For patrons with three-day passes, this means a negative test result must be confirmed on or after Tuesday, August 17.

Additional Safety Rules & Reminders

Summer Smash Festival is a fully outdoor event in compliance with all local and state guidelines for mass gatherings.

Mask wearing is strongly recommended for all attendees. Signage and staff throughout the festival grounds will also encourage fans to wear masks.

Guests who are sick, have a fever, have been recently exposed to COVID-19, and/or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to please stay home.

Attendees should avoid physical contact with people outside of their immediate party while avoiding crowded areas and staying 6 feet away from other groups.

Multiple hand washing and sanitizing positions are located throughout the festival grounds.

Refund policy

Summer Smash is a rain or shine event. No refunds, exchanges, all purchases are nontransferable. All event information, including lineup and venue, are subject to change.

Can I charge my phone at the festival?

Portable chargers will be available for purchase through Electric Standard Co. Attendees can charge on the go, no matter what type of device they have. Cables come built in, and are easily rechargeable at home. To learn more about unlimited exchanges during the festival and pre-orders, visit:


ALL bags will be searched upon entry to the festival. Backpacks, and bags with multiple pockets will not be permitted inside.

Small bags, and fanny packs that are 4.5" x 5.5" or smaller do not need to be clear, but can have no more than one pocket.All other bags must be fully clear and made up of clear plastic, vinyl, or pvc, and be no larger than 12" x 12" x 6". Bags will be restricted to small purses, totes and drawstring bags only.

Hydration packs are allowed and do not need to be clear, however, they must be empty upon arrival and contain no more than two pockets in addition to the main reservoir.

Wristband Replacements

If you need a replacement you will need to purchase a new wristband at the box office upon arrival at the festival (replacements will not be shipped). Replacement wristbands are $30.

The original purchaser must be present with a matching valid photo ID and credit card to be issued a new wristband. If the original purchaser cannot be present, they can also receive support by presenting a photocopy of the credit card used to purchase the ticket and a photocopy of the original purchaser's ID. If there are multiple wristbands in one order, all wristbands must be present in order to activate the lost wristband.

YES: Cameras (non-pro). GoPros and flip cams. Mobile phones and chargers.

YES: Chapstick and lip balm. Sunblock (non-aerosol). Eye drops (sealed/unopened). Hand sanitizer and baby wipes. Makeup. Medication (over-the-counter sealed/unopened, Rx must have label with matching ID and all same pills - no mixing).

NO: Metal, steel, or aluminum water bottles. Outside food or beverage.
YES: Water bottles (empty, plastic, reusable, non-metal, 32 oz, 1 per guest)
